Questions you may have about granite and quartz worktops.
No doubt you have a number of questions that you need answers to before you make your final decision.
Will my granite chip, scratch or break and if so can it be repaired?
Answer: You can chip, scratch or break your worktops if you drop heavy pans, bang something heavy or cut things directly on the surface without using a chopping board. Though granite is extremely hard and is difficult to damage once it is installed, like any work surface if it is not looked after you can damage it.
Repairs can be effective and dependant on the severity of the damage a solution is always to hand. Always try to retain any pieces chipped or broken as these can in some instances be fixed back into position.
Is granite cheaper than quartz?
Answer: Not necessarily, some simple plain quartz stones are cheaper. It all depends on the complexity of colour or composition of the quartz and how unique the granite. Its always worth comparing in the early stages of the decision process.
Do I have to use special cleaning fluids and cloth to keep it looking like new?
Answer: No, simple products that are PH nuetral will suffice, you can buy a simple easy to use cleaning kit from us should you wish to.
Never use abrasive creams or scouring pads on your granite / quartz surface.
